Cookie Policy

Effective Date: June 25, 2026

This Cookie Policy explains how Wissero (“we,” “our,” “us”) uses cookies and similar technologies when you visit app.wissero.com or our related mobile and browser applications (collectively, the “Service”). It complements our Privacy Policy.

1. What Are Cookies?

Cookies are small text files that a website stores on your device. They allow the site to remember your actions and preferences (such as login status, language, and display settings) over time. Some cookies are placed by us (first-party cookies), and others by third-party service providers (third-party cookies).

2. Why Do We Use Cookies?

We group cookies into three categories:

Strictly necessaryWissero & Google OAuthEnable core site functions, authentication, and security. The site cannot function without these.next-auth.session-token, __Secure-next-auth.callback-urlSession / 30 days

AnalyticsGoogle Tag Manager (GA4) & HotjarAggregate usage statistics, heatmaps, and session recordings to improve platform features._ga, _ga_<container>, _gid, _hjSession, _hjSessionUser30 min – 2 years

Strictly necessary cookies are loaded automatically. They require no consent because they are technically essential for the Service to function.

Preference cookies are loaded after you interact with the platform and are used solely to remember your choices within the Service. No personal data is transmitted to third parties through these cookies.

Analytics cookies are loaded only after you provide explicit consent through our Cookie banner (see Section 3).

Legal Basis

  • Strictly necessary cookies: §25(2) TDDDG in conjunction with Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in providing a functional and secure service).
  • Preference cookies: §25(2) TDDDG in conjunction with Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in providing a personalized user interface).
  • Analytics cookies: Your explicit consent under §25(1) TDDDG and Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR.

3. How We Obtain and Manage Your Consent

When you first visit the Service, a consent banner explains the types of cookies in use and allows you to:

  • Accept all cookies (including optional analytics cookies), or
  • Reject optional cookies and continue with strictly necessary and preference cookies only.

Your consent choice is recorded with a timestamp and stored for up to 12 months. After this period, we will ask for your consent again.

Withdrawing or changing consent: You can update your preferences at any time by clicking the “Cookie Settings” or “Manage Consent” link in the footer of our website. Your updated choice takes effect immediately.

Data transfers (analytics): By consenting to Google Analytics, your data may be processed on servers located in the United States. We have enabled IP anonymization to shorten your IP address within the EEA before transmission, and we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) to ensure an adequate level of data protection for any onward transfer.

4. Managing Cookies Through Your Browser

In addition to our consent banner, most browsers allow you to delete existing cookies, block future cookies, or receive a warning before a cookie is stored. Guides for popular browsers:

  • Chrome: Settings → Privacy & security → Cookies and other site data
  • Firefox: Options → Privacy & Security → Enhanced Tracking Protection
  • Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
  • Edge: Settings → Site permissions → Cookies and site data

Please be aware that blocking strictly necessary cookies via your browser settings may prevent core authentication features of the Service from working correctly.

5. Updates to This Policy

Cookie names, lifespans, and purposes may change as our Service or third-party providers evolve. We will update this policy and the consent banner accordingly. The “Effective Date” at the top of this page indicates the date of the latest revision. We will notify you of material changes via an updated consent banner or in-platform notice.

6. Contact

If you have questions about our use of cookies, please contact us at hello@wissero.com or visit wissero.com/contact.
