Who is JustApp for?

The course is designed especially for university students, graduates and professionals who already live in Germany or are planning to spend time there. The topics connect everyday life, personal interests and workplace situations.

JustApp is ideal if you want to learn without fixed class times and set your own pace.

You need German skills equivalent to a completed A1 level, for example through Wissero A1.1 and A1.2 or comparable courses. You should be able to introduce yourself, answer simple questions about familiar topics and understand short, simple messages.

What you will learn in German A2

Step by step, you will expand your language skills:

• Travel and experiences: Talk about past trips, describe holiday destinations and weather, and explain your travel choices.

• Daily life and shopping: Describe daily routines, have simple shopping conversations and talk about everyday errands.

• Your life then and now: Describe events in your life, past rules and abilities, and explain when things happened.

• Housing and home: Describe your living situation, make polite requests, express housing preferences and compare the advantages and disadvantages of different homes.

• Work and job applications: Understand basic requirements in job advertisements, describe your work experience and practise simple job interviews.

• The future and your plans: Talk about personal goals, wishes and dreams, and explain your leisure plans.

• Media and technology: Compare devices, describe your media use and discuss changes between the past and the present.

• Leisure and cinema: Invite others, arrange to meet, summarise film plots briefly and explain your recommendations.

• Celebrations and finding your way: Describe party preparations, gifts and food, give directions and practise small talk.

• Review and exam preparation: Bring together what you have learned, practise exam conversations and learn to check your own statements and clarify uncertainties.

You will practise reading, listening, writing and speaking. You will strengthen familiar structures and learn new language tools, such as modal verbs in the past, comparisons, reflexive verbs and polite wishes with “würde”, “wäre” and “hätte”.

A clear learning path through ten units

The course includes nine topic-based units and a tenth unit for review and exam preparation. Each unit contains three learning objectives — 30 in total.

Each learning objective takes you through eight steps: an introduction to the topic; an introduction to vocabulary and grammar; vocabulary practice; grammar practice; and reading, listening, writing and speaking.

The adaptive learning platform takes your current knowledge into account and adjusts the depth of practice. Your progress shows you which content you have already mastered and where you need more practice.

Independent learning – with support

Your AI tutor helps you with questions and explains language concepts at a level that suits you. The smart dictionary lets you look up, collect and review new vocabulary.

For writing and speaking tasks, you receive AI-powered feedback on word choice and grammar, as well as spelling or pronunciation, depending on the task.

The exercises are in German. For explanations, choose your preferred language: English, Turkish, Arabic, Italian, Ukrainian, French, Spanish or Persian.

Allow 30–45 minutes per learning objective, or 90–135 minutes per unit. The 30 learning objectives take an estimated 15–22.5 hours, including the review and exam preparation unit. Allow additional time for individual revision and practice exams.

At the end of the course, you can take practice exams based on UNIcert criteria. These help you assess your progress and become familiar with exam tasks. The practice exams do not lead to an official UNIcert qualification.
